ASSESSMENTS AVAILABLE AT RUSSELL-SMITH AND CO

(For individuals aged 6 – 16 years)

Cognitive assessment                                                          $940

A test of thinking and reasoning skills (verbal reasoning, non-verbal reasoning, fluid reasoning, working memory and processing speed).  

The price includes a formal report.  A 30min feedback session will cost an additional $135.

Comprehensive Educational assessment                                                     $1250   

Screening for specific learning disorders (or strengths/weaknesses) in the areas of reading, written expression, spelling, and mathematics.

This testing is to be completed following 6 months of targeted intervention in the area(s) of concern.

 

Please note that Suzanna will usually be required to complete a cognitive assessment in conjunction with this testing to provide accurate interpretation of results (unless this testing has been completed previously).

Initial screening of learning challenges                                                          $560

Any diagnosis for a specific learning disorder requires 6 months of targeted intervention.  As such, we offer a smaller battery of tests prior to someone undergoing comprehensive testing if they have not yet completed the necessary intervention.  This allows specific areas of difficulty to be identified which can then be addressed through intervention.  This testing option includes consultation with you and your child's school to inform our testing.

After 6 months of suitable intervention, an individual would then complete a full educational assessment if warranted.

Our literacy and numeracy specialist teachers at Russell-Smith and Co provide this intervention.

​

This option for testing can also be selected for an individual who needs a functional impact review assessment for school accommodations or modifications.

No new diagnoses will be made based on this testing, only previous diagnoses can be confirmed.  This testing will incur an additional cost of $405 as it will include a formal report.

Comprehensive ADHD diagnostic testing                                  $1150 

​

We will complete a basic ADHD screening prior to completing full testing. This will comprise:

A 50-minute clinical interview

Questionnaires completed by your child (if age-appropriate), you, and their teacher(s)

Review of school reports

If we do not proceed with further testing, the total cost will be $325.

 

We will then complete a cognitive assessment if indicated from initial results.  A formal report will also be provided.

We may have Clinical Psychology Masters students at the practice at various times who will be able to complete these assessments at a lower cost (under Suzanna’s guidance and supervision).
